Hemsö strengthens its presence in Finland through the acquisition of a portfolio of 15 healthcare and senior care properties. The value of the properties acquired is approximately EUR 100 million.

Half of the acquired properties are located in the Helsinki region and the remainders are primarily situated in larger Finnish cities. The tenants comprise one municipality and well-established private operators. The principal tenant is Esperi Care and Mediverkko. The remaining average lease term is approximately 7 years.

- “This is our second acquisition in Finland within a short timeframe and the acquisition is part of our growth strategy,” says Hemsö’s MD, Per Berggren.

The properties in the acquired portfolio primarily comprise premises for senior care and healthcare. The total area is almost 40,000 sq m.

 - “Our extensive experience in owning and managing community properties enables us to contribute with expertise in terms of managing and developing premises for the healthcare, education and senior care sectors,” says Gustav Björkman, Head of Strategy and Transactions at Hemsö.

The vendor is Trevian Care I Ky. Closing is planned for March 2014. Advisors have been Leimdörfer and Castrén & Snellman.
