Hemsö has been awarded a land allocation in the Vikhem area in the centre of Staffanstorp, Sweden, to construct a new nursing home. The total investment is estimated at SEK 140 million and a 15-year lease has been signed with the Ambea Group.

The planned property will have a lettable area of approximately 3,900 sqm and the tenant will be Ambea's subsidiary Vardaga, with a lease period of 15 years. The new nursing home will comprise 54 residential places spread over three floors.

"I am pleased that we can now continue to plan the new nursing home jointly with Vardaga. The building will be constructed in central Staffanstorp in the completely new residential area of Vikhem. Nursing homes are Hemsö's largest property category and we are currently building eight new nursing homes in Sweden," says Fredrik Alvarsson, Project Development Manager at Hemsö.

Construction is expected to be completed at the start of 2019 and will fulfil the criteria for the Silver standard of the Sweden Green Building Council's Miljöbyggnad certification system. Construction is conditional upon the acquisition of land from Staffanstorp Municipality.
