Hemsö acquires justice system property in Germany

- Non-regulatory information

Hemsö is expanding its property portfolio in Germany with the acquisition of an educational property for the justice system in Wiesbaden. The investment amount is approximately SEK 700 million and a 15-year rental agreement has been signed with the German state.

Hemsö is increasing the number of properties in the company’s justice system category with the acquisition of a training centre for the federal police force. The building was completely renovated in 2019 and is now specially adapted for police operations.

“The acquisition will broaden our ownership of public properties in Germany and we are very pleased to add to our portfolio of justice properties. Previously, we have mostly owned nursing homes but we are also focused on education and justice system properties,” says Jens Nagel, Head of Hemsö’s German Region.

With this acquisition, Hemsö now owns five justice system properties in Germany. Hemsö owns and manages public properties with a property value of approximately SEK 8 billion in the country.
